Our Shoe Of The Future

We are pioneering the use of bio-based, bio-circular content in our Croslite™ compounds to transform plant-based waste into shoes that have all the comfort you expect from Crocs, but with less emissions.*

By 2030, we will achieve 50% bio-circular content** within our Croslite™ compounds.

100% of the bio-based material we use is certified as bio-circular by ISCC PLUS.

*As a result of our mass balance approach, the amount of bio-based content per shoe fluctuates*Bio-circular Croslite™ material has a lower carbon footprint than standard fossil fuel-based Croslite™ material, as demonstrated by our Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) conducted by an environmental consultancy with primary data from fiscal year 2023 and validated and certified by SGS.**We use a mass balance approach to calculate the full-year bio-circular content within our Croslite™ compounds. Due to this approach, the amount of bio-circular content fluctuates over the year.

Already Low Footprint

Our inherently simple approach to design, the materials we use, and how our shoes are manufactured mean that our Classic Clog already has a low carbon footprint*.

We engaged an environmental consultancy to conduct a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) with primary data from fiscal year 2023 to compare the carbon impact of increasing bio-circular content in our Croslite™ compounds, which has been validated and certified by SGS.

*This metric was calculated using the Higg Product Module 1.0 at Higg.org in 2021. Calculations were conducted internally and represent a cradle-to-grave impact. All Crocs footwear carbon footprints are calculated using industry recognized sample sizes across our product classifications.

Packaging Light, Packaging Right

We ship to our fans all over the world and are making strides to reduce our environmental impact.

The majority of our shoes are packaged in a product polybag, which has an 85% lower carbon footprint than a shoe box*. In 2023, we took steps to reduce our reliance on virgin materials and transition our primary polybag to 100% recycled content, which customers will begin to see in late 2024!

*This comparative metric was made against a shoebox containing 85% recycled cardboard, 15% market mix cardboard, and weighing 180 grams and calculated using the Higg Materials Sustainability Index (Higg MSI athigg.org) V3.7 developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, a cradle-to-gate material assessment tool that calculates environmental impacts of materials. The calculation was completed in 2024 by Crocs, Inc. and is not verified by a third party.**Our LDPE product polybags are made from 100% post-industrial recycled content.

Still 100% Vegan

Since 2021, we’ve eliminated all animal derived materials from our products. We are a proud winner of PETA’s 2022 Libby Award.

Through both direct and consumer-led efforts, we donate funds and shoes to non-profit organizations, supporting issues we care about.
